Did you know that planting beach grass 🌾 Helps to control erosion on Lake Michigan beaches and sand dunes. 🌾 This was a gardening first for me 🌾 Planting beach grass!! 🌾 We picked up 100 beach grass plugs last fall to help stabilize our sand dunes. 🌾 Beach grass information: 1️⃣ The roots act as a net to hold sandy areas together. 2️⃣ When the wind blows, sand will catch and collect around the base of the grasses. 3️⃣ The best time to plant beach grass is October until the soil freezes. 4️⃣
