Same issue, while on the phone with Apple Support I decided to try spinning the watch several times on the charger one way then spin it the opposite direction. Magically it restarted and I could pair to the watch. PS The first one acted in the same way

Every day when we go to recharge our watches the charge ring is at about the 4 o'clock position (charge remaining) if that makes sense.

Oct 2, 2024 · Apple Watch Series 8 draining fast after update to iOS 11.0 My Series 8 watch is draining so fast since updating my phone to iOS 18.0 and the phone to iOS 11.0 and my battery is down to 20% by 7PM!! Have not used watch any differently nor have I added/changed anything other than updating to 11.0.

May 10, 2023 · This just started for me yesterday after the 10.4 WatchOS update (Series 8 watch). I have the optimized setting turned off in Battery Health already, so I needed to also change the open charging to "charge to full" when I checked battery level. I thought it was a one-off after updating to 10.4 and restarting, and didn't give it another thought.

May 20, 2023 · no, there is no sim card slot on any apple watchs, the cellular model use eSIM - Wikipedia which is not a physical sim card but a number you get from your carrier, and the non cellular model does not have a cellular radio build in at all, and it's not something one can add

After this was done, I updated my phone to ios 14.8 and restarted both devices. When I try to pair the watch to the phone, I get a message that says an update is available for the watch.
