In kh1 the magic works with exponential stacking, I want to say the highest possible magic stat is about 18, without the staff that's a measly 17.

There's 2 main play styles for wizard. And. 2) Spell Book + Crystal Sword, running 10 spells, spell book for casting, Crystal Sword for PvE/preserving spells. I prefer #2. You can also use a staff to kill harder PvE. It will make your spells hit a lot harder, especially magic missile.

Oct 12, 2021 · Staff or shield are still probably the best options but you can still pick the sword to make that early/mid game keyblade combat feel a bit less clunky. IMO staff is much better than shield in 100% runs, but in story only they’re a bit closer. Staff gets +2 MP over the shield/sword, 1 at the very beginning of the game and 1 at level 66.

Mar 15, 2022 · Nasty combination. I usually run moonveil on my right and azur glintstone staff on my left, changing out for a shield when needed. Started with carian Knights shield when I got it, now using mirrorshield. Struggling here myself. So far Moonveil out performs all one handed weapons for int/dex builds.

Oct 8, 2012 · The staff wants condition damage, and the sword-focus wants power. I find that I prefer Carrion items. They have condition/power/vitality, with condition being the dominant stat. Do you prefer the greatsword or the staff for regular PvE? If you prefer the staff, (it being the best weapon the Mesmer has IMHO) go for Carrion.

Technically +Staff/-Sword is the best in the end since you will permanently have 2 more MP than if you chose the other options, but the beginning of the game is noticeably harder if you choose this route.
