Feb 28, 2024 · I believe the issue we are all having stems from another application called snip & sketch which included the ruler function. (now merged into snipping tool) I have found an alternative for creating a straight line within snip tool if this is all you require. if you hold down the SHIFT key as you create the line it will snap at 45 degree increments.

Apr 8, 2013 · It is probably the interface between the body of the document and the header area that is being marked by the green line. Go to the view tab and check the Ruler box and if you see that the green line is at the same vertical position as the change from the white area to the grey area of the vertical ruler, that would confirm that suggestion.

Now, Left Click & release... this (action) locks it, the mouse, to the ruler & you'll notice a wee intensity change to the rule's hue when this happens. Anyway, now, the scroll wheel should rotate the ruler. And, btw, once it is positioned, via rotation, now, Left Click, again, to free the mouse from the Ruler.

Oct 23, 2020 · The mouse cursor must be within the boundary of the ruler to effect rotation. I advise positioning the cursor near the center of the rule or on the dial. If the rotation of the ruler results in the cursor position being outside the boundary of the ruler, the canvas zoom feature takes over. This is probably undesirable behavior in most cases.

Oct 20, 2019 · None of the solutions I read worked except 1: search for 'scroll' in your Windows search bar, go to the Mouse settings; in there activate the setting "Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them" and then, when using the scroll wheel of the mouse when hovering over the ruler, I am able to rotate it!
