Originally founded in 1996 as the R&D and Supply Department of the NMRA Proto:87 SIG, we have steadily grown to become the leading provider of more accurate and realistic HO, N and Z Scale track kits and parts to discerning modelers around the World.

Proto:87 wheelsets for Diesel and Electric Locomotives are normally supplied as two wheels on half axles in either "Athearn" type (3/32" half axles) or "Kato" type (1.5mm half Axles). We are also currently testing some 1/16 diameter axles for a few Bachmann models.

So they got together and the US Proto:87 SIG was born. Back then there were none of the truly scale sized yet strong and reliable track components that we would need, and no commercial manufacturer was willing to risk stepping up.

BOTH the Regular NMRA HO Standard and the extremely Accurate NMRA PROTO:87 Standard, also without requiring any Extra Parts or Changes. Almost no Skill is needed to use Switch-Works to build Track and/or Turnouts, from our Kits of Parts.

The Proto:87 versions of our track ranges only differ from the HO versions in the Frog and Guard Rail Flange way widths. So the only difference in our product ranges is that we supply the equivalent "Proto:87" version of our Frogs in all our Turnout Kits.
