The glycerine is very thick and sticky like honey or mollases and gets real stiff in extrememly cold weather. It gives a lure good stickyness and body but perhaps in real cold climates that body would be too much.

It acted as a bactericide - presumed to dehydrate the bacteria, although I haven't found any reference to evidence that this was how it works.

Vaseline and lanolin will act simularly in retarding odor release from a lure if used in to great a volume. Especially when the temps drop.

Aug 23, 2019 · No odor problems at all. I dig the bed, spray with glycol mix, cover with pre-sifted dry peat, top off with light ground cover and spray the top. I am only trapping for several weeks before real deep freeze, but traps have been very good down to the teens above zero. Propylene glycol can be mixed with water too.

Jan 22, 2023 · Use it straight like Lee suggested. Use a flip top, urine lid to apply straight. Only thing I didn't like is the wet spot on the top of pattern. Feb 2, 2009 · Central Ohio. Propylene glycol will CHANGE the odor of your urine if not kept in a freezer after it has been added. Glycol would be the best choice. Some trappers have used common table salt with success, although I would caution that trick around rabbits, livestock or a heavy deer population.
