It supports a number of discipline-specific preprint services many of which use the ArXiv name under licence. The list of preprint services is growing over time.

As long as you hold the copyright to your work (or remain the right to publish a preprint version) you can upload your paper to as many repositories as you like.

Dec 23, 2022 · Yes, there is a text box exactly as you have described it. Most likely I gave permission myself. Most journals in my field accept articles that have been put online as pre-prints. Most likely there was a checkbox like "I agree that my paper will be shared on SSRN while being under review" that you did not untick.

Note that double-blind peer review is not necessarily incompatible with a preprint: some venues (eg NeurIPS, a leading conference in machine learning) uses double-blind peer review, encourages authors to submit a preprint, and discourages reviewers to check them.
