Oct 23, 2023 · A PRC-152 or MBITR or similar is a lot of fun, it’s a lot like a front panel programmable police scanner that transmits. They work great on various amateur bands and for scanning. RF performance is high and on par with most any …

Jan 15, 2020 · The TRI- PRC-152 cannot be programmed VIA a CPS. Unfortunately, you’ll have to front jam everything into the radio (FPP programming). However, the “TCA” clone variant of the PRC-152 does have a personal CPS and cable, if that’s something that interests you. Originally the TRI model was just a Baofeng UV-5R inside a PRC-152 housing.

Jun 25, 2021 · The only reason TRI, TCA and Falco have been able to "mimic" the look of the PRC-152 and PRC-148 is because of the export variants that have made it into the surplus world, along with "stolen" PRC-152's and PRC-148's that have been floated around. They got their hands on one or the other and used them as reference.

Oct 23, 2023 · I own a THALES PRC-6809 to specifically monitor frequencies in the VHF/UHF air bands. I use it on an almost daily basis. I wanted something that was designed for the task and there really aren't any handhelds, that are built to mil-spec standards, that cover the VHF/UHF air band. I think the idea of owning an AN/PRC-163 is a pipe dream at best.

Jun 25, 2021 · I disagree! With a Harris battery, or a 6-cell 18650 they will pump out 15w. They are DEFINITELY not the same as real Harris PRC 152 radios... But the "AR-152" is a baofeng (green plastic case and all)! This Aluminum cased monster is very different.

Oct 29, 2018 · There is a pretty good thread on the PRC-148 clone and the various versions of the PRC-152 clones on M4Carbine.Net. It seems that one of the PRC-152 clones is advertised as have 28-30 mhz capability. Bob

TRI VS TCA PRC152 - Update as of mid-2024 : r/airsoft - Reddit
I have both. The TRI internal speaker sucks ass (static and low volume, internal mic sucks too). If you plug in a TEA or speakermic on the TRI, the audio doesn't auto switch like the TCA. Also the TCA-152 can be software unlocked to receive and transmit from 30-530. The TCA has a GPS version if you are into that.

Jan 15, 2020 · The PRC-152 is a Type 1 encrypted product and is NOT legal for civilians to own. It MAY be possible that such radios could be found on the black market in certain foreign countries. In which case they're either battlefield pickups or were "liberated" from allied forces (Such as the Iraqi Army that we have equipped with these radios) and in ...
