When I think of off-road, I think of extreme conditions and a minivan isn't going to hang with a Wrangler, Defender, 4Runner, etc. crossing the middle of a river, bogging in waist-deep mud, overlanding on top of a frozen ocean, etc.

Seems like a lot of folks want the off-road capability of a SUV with the MPG and functionality of a minivan (sliding doors, large cargo), feels like if someone made something in this space vs another small 3-row SUV that it could dominate, without making it into a Yukon, Tahoe, etc.
