
Why “The Name Of The Wind” is so beloved? And what’s so
The name of the wind has great elements but the pacing and writing quality is uneven. Sometimes great set-ups like the magic school are barely used and other random situations like Kvothe’s bard exploits and felurian sex episode are inexplicably long. But the chapters with Bast and the ones that touch on the main story are excellent.

Mar 15, 2014 · Name of the Wind was an amazing novel, beautifully setting up a unique world with a cool magic system and an interesting cast of characters. In the Wise Man's Fear, it felt like little was done to progress the story with the Chandrian and that it was just more set up for the final chapter which is disappointing.

I just read The Name of the Wind, because so many people have praised it. I feel like one of the few people who thinks it’s honestly awful. Here are a few reasons, explained briefly.
