Oct 18, 2013 · In the salon and main bath on my 3870 I removed that nasty germ dust catching monkey fur and installed the FRP bathroom paneling, cream color for the salon and white for the bath, I did block off the 2 sliding doors for the bath, not much privacy with the original sliders: if the fwd stateroom did not have so many angles I would change it out also.

Feb 15, 2020 · It wouldn’t be just the remnants of the monkey fur, there’s the contact cement that has to be removed and the inner fiberglass layer is going to have to be faired. You could do something like Pat did with that plastic sheeting.

Feb 18, 2014 · As for the the roof I don't have monkey fur it has some kind of rubber vinyl. I'm going to attach furing strip either with epoxy or 5200 (I can't decide which to use yet? ) then I'm going to put on some kind of foam insulation on and then vinyl covered 1/8" plywood panels. Attached to the furing strips. Either velcro or screw down.

The monkey fur becomes filter element material in those sections. Jul 21, 2019 · I purchased a portable rug doctor steam cleaner and steam cleaned my monkey fur stem to stern. Not only did the bottle of generic cleaner that came with the machine clean the mold spots, but the fur is several shades lighter. The water I was dumping out was nearly black....

Aug 23, 2019 · Best to ask a shop that sells marine wall coverings. The typical "monkey fur" or newer style foam backed fabrics are generally pretty good at resisting mold & mildew, but nothing is foolproof from molds given the right conditions and - usually - lack of attention or being away for extended periods after a leak develops.

Jun 16, 2017 · It did an excellent job on the black streaks in the monkey fur.....used lowest temperature setting. I use it for everything on my boat from the engine room, rugs, decks, to flybridge canvas, it removes everything without any chemical products. They are a bit expensive, but worth every penny once you see how many uses it has.

When the engine runs, the engine room is at a little negative air pressure, the Monkey Fur catches dust (and soot) before it leaves the cabin space.
