Oct 19, 2016 · Word 2016 Mac hanging indent problem I'm using version 15.27 and I often have to use hanging indents. Sometimes - especially if I want to return to hanging indents after a bulleted list - the indent changes and will not go back to where I want it, no matter how hard I try.

I have the issue with my macbook that even after testing all possible combinations of paragraph options, the indent keeps jumping to the beginning of the line (or the fixed point in "Line Spacing Options"). I have already tried hanging indent, changing preferences etc.

Oct 24, 2016 · This is how I set it (flush left for the top margin, with the indent margin set at 3" This is what happens (top margin moves to 1.1") Somebody suggested I create a style for my hanging indent. It doesn't help. When I apply the style, it shows the hanging indent margins correctly, but as soon as I hit tab on the first line, it goes back to this.

Feb 7, 2013 · On the assumption that you're using the built-in Bibliography/Works Cited element, just modify the Bibliography paragraph style to include a Hanging Indent of whatever amount required. Nov 23, 2019 · Set "Text indent at" to the desired amount, check the box for "Add tab stop at," and set that to the smaller amount. For example, if the numbered item is flush left (Aligned at 0"), then the tab stop could be at 0.25" and the hanging indent at 0.5".

Instead of "Adjust List Indents," you can try the following steps: Use the Ruler: Select the list you want to format. Go to the View tab and check the Ruler box to display the ruler. Adjust the indent markers on the ruler to set your desired indentation.

Feb 10, 2024 · Please let me know if there's another way to stop this from happening it is making me want to stop using word altogether. To visualize: I will type a sentence like this and when it reaches the end of the line it . will do a hanging indent like this for the rest of the paragraph. unless I turn it off manually every single time it does it.
