Problems with Grecom PSR-600 not hearing P25 Talk Groups
WEBJul 3, 2023 · In some situations, a directional antenna will help, but Phase 2 is still likely to not work. Phase 2 definitely will not work. The PSR-600 is capable of P25 Phase 1 only and cannot be upgraded to Phase 2. The Whistler Legacy Upgrade is for the GRE PSR-800 and for the Radio Shack PRO-18 and PRO-668 only.

WEBMar 3, 2022 · 139.1625 & 139.4125 are likely the two frequencies you programmed in as control channels. The WISCOM system is Phase 1 which the GRE PSR-600 scanner can handle. The PSR-500/600 scanners cannot handle Phase 2 which a lot of counties are moving to from Phase 1 just as a heads up. Shawn. Last edited: Mar 3, 2022.

WEBJan 13, 2024 · Do a search for “bricked PSR-600”. Someone tried to update it with the wrong firmware update. B.S. Thanks Mr. BS73, but I located the CPUupdater Boot14, ran same and the scanner came alive! 800mHz P25 appears to work fine. The VHF / UHF seems to have a low sensitivity issue. Thanks for the input.

This will reset all settings and wipe the memory to factory settings. The 'Easier to Read' manual lists some other options if that's not what you're looking for:
