Second - OBS: The change above was just in Elgato but as soon as I started up OBS the crackling started again. Go to Settings - Audio.

Move to the "Device" tab and try a firmware update for the Elgato Game Capture HD60 X. -> Please do not do anything else during the firmware update process! Retest after update has finished.

In my experience for game capture, other brands do the same job better, even for basic needs like recording gameplay video or highlights. Elgato is a good entry point for basic needs, but far from reliable.
