Aug 27, 2019 · Case 2390, 3 speed powershift, 5,000 hours developed a noise in pto when choping hay. Then a fews loads latter the tractor died well choping. You can start the tractor but when you push in the clutch it kills the tractor. Just wonder what happened.

Jun 6, 2011 · I had a 2390 case come in the shop last fall and had a miss and a fair amount of white smoke coming out the exhaust. Anyways the owner wanted to overhaul it regardless. So I did an inframe overhaul. I did find some electrolis on some of the liners. I had found nothing inside the engine that was wrong to make it misfire.

As one forum member said, and this is an actual quote, " Case just never did make a good product and never contributed anything to ag machinery.
2390 or 7140 gotta have a 540 rpm - Red Power Magazine
I own a 2390 and a 7140. The 2390 I was hoping would have a reversible shaft so as to run 540 rpm, but there is no snapring on that model. My dad had an adapter on the pto shaft of the 7140 so that the spline resembles a typical 540 output, so where do I select between the two pto speeds? Thanks to all you RED POWER folks.

I have a 2390 case tractor that the 3pt is really slow to raise. I bet it takes fifteen minutes to raise. What do I need to check or look for. I just change the hydraulic filters to see if this would help. Fluid looks really clean. Brakes, steering and transmission all work as they should, Havnt tried the remote hudraulics.

Jun 30, 2011 · Penetrating oil is your friend. Clean and lubricate the forcing screw holes. Even pressure on the three forcing screws.I have driven the tractor with pressure on the forcing screws, be sure the retaining screws are in far enough to not allow the wheel to separate too far from the wedge when it breaks loose.
