May 10, 2016 · Since we now know EHP all we now need is the SHP. Thus SHP = EHP/PC. The PC for a prop boat is different to that of a waterjet boat. As a very quick rule of thumb, you can use a range of PC for a prop boat as 0.5-0.55 and a waterjet boat from 0.6-0.65. Thus it is quick to see a waterjet boat has a better overall efficiency in the system.

Nov 29, 2012 · The black pipe in your mast is a no no. The mast should be kept as light as possible consistent with the load that will be applied. A shaped wooden mast is cheap enough if you are willing to do the work to make it right. Cheap sails can be made of Tyvek which is a big box store (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) item.

Even on the WB sails website they have a masthead shot of " the fastest 470 sail " and it has a camber of ~14% in the head. I have shots of North SailsnSnipe sails with 18% in the head now that is a long way from the "ideal" 10%.
