IS THE DSL40CR THE BEST DAMN MARSHALL AMP
Apr 21, 2013 · Some of the technology in the DSL40CR leaves me questioning its long term health and reliability. This is specifically related (but not limited) to the chip that controls the switching functions, and its propensity to lose it's programming, causing a wide and not always same varieties of operational anomalies!

Feb 10, 2018 · The 5150 series, all of them are awesome. The new DSL, is probably too much like the old DSL. And if the 40c wasn't your dream amp, the 40cr won't be either. The comparisons of the DSL to ac/dc and hair metal are kinda spot on. I don't own one but that's how I've perceived the Marshalls I do own.

Apr 7, 2023 · I have been using the Marshall DSL 40CR for about two years. It works great, and with Creamback it's just brilliant. However, it's been acting strange the last few days. After turning on the amplifier, the red power light is on normally, and after about a minute it goes out completely or almost completely.

Feb 14, 2011 · I can't speak for the 20, but I have a 40C and have played the 40CR. Honestly, if you want power tube saturation at apartment-friendly volumes, you've got to go 5-watts or below. Even the lowly DSL1CR, with it's whopping 1 watt of power and it's inefficient 8" speaker, requires moving a surprising amount of air before the power section starts ...
Vintage 30 or Creamback 75 for Dsl40cr | Marshall Amp Forum
Apr 3, 2021 · On the other end of the spectrum is the mid-heavy Greenback with its rolled off bass and treble. The 65 Creamback lands in the middle, sounding like a Greenback with more clarity and a bit more bottom end, or maybe it sounds like a T75 with more midrange. But the 75 Creamback is even closer to the T75.

Marshall DSL40c vs DSL40cr - Rig-Talk
Jan 2, 2020 · I could probably pick up a used DSL40c cheaper than one of the DSL40cr’s. I actually just bought a like-new Blackstar HT40 MKII, and it leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn’t sound bad, but it just doesn’t seem to have any presence. It just seems to have this dark, muddled. I’m going for EVH and Nuno tones.
