I have been to famous spots like Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, Kyoto station, Nishiki market, horseracing etc. So I’m looking for hidden gems in Kyoto. Preferably related to Japanese culture (I mean not like shopping centres). Events will also be good, but I searched in calendars and there’s no event in Kyoto. Thank you so much!

The buses to and from the further flung temples can all be gotten at Kyoto station. Many travelers arrive in Kyoto by train and depart by train and use Kyoto as a base for day trips to Nara and Osaka. Staying near Kyoto Station does seem to make the most sense to me.

Edited: There is a Ghibli warehouse in Nagoya if time permits you to travel from Osaka (or Kyoto) to Nagoya if you missed the Ghibli museum in Tokyo, but check if there are any available tickets.

Kyoto dialect may not have a tight accent. They are more sophisticated and soft-feeling than Osaka, Kobe dialect etc. What is characteristic of them is rather the temperament of Kyoto citizens. In Japan, Kyoto memes like "Kyoto people are passively aggressive" are popular. (Of course these are only prejudice.)

Want to see the 'real' Kyoto? This is a relatively obscure temple in a quiet part of Kyoto, best known for being home to the Shugakuin Villa (an imperial villa, also worth visiting -- free entrance by guided tour only, must be reserved in advance). The walk from Shugakuin to Manshu-in was beautiful - nothing special, but just quiet backstreets.
