Jun 10, 2023 · I read a few posts on here about switching out the 4 carb system with a single carb. I did this on my '83. Absolutely amazing! Now has electric choke and fuel shut-off. Just took a 700 mile road trip. Averaged 45.9 mpg!

For 1986, Yamaha made some changes... Capacity was increased to 1300cc for more power, luggage capacity was increased by 50%, it was fitted with electronically controlled anti-dive forks, and passenger accommodations were enhanced. Despite all the engine improvements and extra power, the new Venture Royale could still pull 45mpg.

Aug 30, 2017 · My Venture has neither but heck, it only cost me $4,000.00 when new in 1984. The Yamaha dealer here in SF was moving and they want to sell the bikes at a loss instead of moving them all. I went in to buy a face shield for my helmet and they still had one Venture left!

Yamaha has replaced many clutch baskets under warranty and many people have reported that this has greatly reduced or eliminated this noise. Dry drive splines. Yamaha seems to be very stingy with the grease that they use on the rear drive spines on these bikes.
