WEBMay 3, 2008 · The 98 and 99 yz 125 were great bikes, but never put out anything close to 38 hp in real life. The new 125 is 10 lbs lighter and has a few more horsepower. In reality it is at 32-33 hp in stock form. The 98-99 would have been closer to 30-31. Even KTM, who makes a monster 125 motor, never cracked 38 in stock form.

Some of the mods to try for a woods 125 might. be, 1 tooth smaller on front sprocket, V force reed cage, FMF fatty pipe, and. most important is jetting. Temp and altitude can mean you go from. 100% perfect jetting at the start of the day, to 90, 80, 70 pecent later in the day.

WEBNov 5, 2021 · If you are not familiar with new 2022 YZ125 engine changes, again by memory it gets a redesigned cylinder, cylinder head, center cases, crank/rod (likely the exhaust as well) physically wider transmission gears, a Keihin carb with TPS sensor and powerjet similar to the YZ250 and, VForce reeds.

WEBJul 16, 2020 · 2019 yz125 at 2200ft and 19c right now and running 35 pilot Air screw 1 3/4 , needle 44-74 2nd clip ( same as 2008 43-74 3 rd clip)and 410 main. Keefer testing has a good right up on pipe and vForce. Did not like his jetting suggestion though. Setup Yamaha jetting app and it will compensate for weather and altitude.

WEBPosted November 7, 2023. I'll disagree with the regular yz125 being close. The ignition, porting, different head, and softer suspension on the x models really do make it quite a different bike. If you ride more wide open stuff sure, but tighter techier stuff, the x really is a better application. SC_Spode.

Here's my setup for eastern PA (500-3000'): 175 main/45 slow/N3CW-2/40 power (needle is leaner than Kinger's) 2020 YZ250X. Only mod on the engine is the power valve governor and the Apex XC dome.
