Bo Jackson was called the best athlete since Jim Thorpe, so they should both be mentioned.

By the logic of popularity equals greatest athlete in 2024 the greatest athlete would be in esports. It's not about the popularity it's about dominance. And the only real people who have been untouchable in their sport is Phelps and Gretzky. And maybe Lewis Hamilton.
