Barton Vermont is located on I-91 in Orleans County, north of St Johnsbury, in the beautiful and scenic "Northeast Kingdom" of Vermont, an area that National Geographic selected as part of their geotourism program for sustainable destinations.

Barton is a town in southwestern Tioga County, New York, United States. The population was 8,570 at the 2020 census. [2] It is southeast of Elmira.

Barton, Vermont is named for Colonel (later General) William Barton, best known for having captured the British commanding General Robert Prescott, at Prescott's Rhode Island headquarters in 1777. Prescott's capture lessened the pressure on American General George Washington's forces in New Jersey.
