WEBAug 26, 2020 — As far as turntables go, I don't think a VPI Prime is a beginner's turntable. It's a great turntable, but it's going to require a lot of setup. And while you can have the dealer set it up for you, this kind of defeats the concept of VPI decks. Their decks have a lot of on the fly tweaks. If something is off, you make the adjustment.

So just a hundred dollars difference really, but the platter and tone arm of the VPI look to be substantial in comparison to the Rega.

WEBJan 15, 2021 — With the Prime you can get a gimbaled 3D arm or spring for the Fatboy unipivot or gimbaled. I’m a huge fan of the unipivot arms. What’s cool about the Kuzma is the arms counterweight stub is positioned lower than the arm whereas the VPI uses low hanging counterweights on a stub that’s straight with the arm.
