WEBAug 10, 2009 · You can actually get pretty elaborate and spend upwards of a $1,000 for the best custom fit headers. However, staying on the sane side, for competition the Hooker 2129 are highest costing off-the-shelf headers in this list of options but still affordable.

WEBMar 7, 2018 · I think the best V8 Vega variation is the one Chevy built in 1972 (featured in Hot Rod in '72). The Vega prototype featured an all-aluminum 283, bored out to 302 (leftover from 1959 Corvette experimental testing) The Vega prototype did the quarter mile in 14 sec. with a Turbo Hydra Matic, stock rear axle and street tires.

As for the front springs on the vega, I found a few sets from Speedway.com that offer the same I.D. and O.D. dimensions as the stock springs with numerous spring rates available. My stock springs were 4 3/4" OD, 3 1/2" ID, 12" L. Im going to run the 5" OD x 12L in my 72 with sbc alum heads ect.

WEBDec 27, 2014 · Of these Ranger axles, the 1990-1992 4X4 Ranger WITH a 4.0L V6 have 10" drum brakes and most have 3.55/3.73/4.10 gears with limited slip diffs also. This factory 56.5 inch wide 8.8 axle is stronger, cheaper and a better fit (width), in comparison to other axle swaps. With only leaf spring perches to remove, it deserves a lot of consideration.

WEBAug 19, 2009 · The V6 with A/C (which I think are the same rate as the V8 spring without A/C are the same spring specs) worked perfect for my situation. P.S. Also in agreement with the 1975 and up lower controls arms are deeper so if any Monza springs are used on a 1971 to 1974 Vega they are a couple coil turns to tall.

WEBDec 31, 2020 · Subframe connectors can give you a stronger place to connect the lower control arms to the body. The real strength and stiffness come from welding the rails to each other via crossmembers in addition to welding/bolting the rails to the unibody. Then triangulation with at least a 6 or 8 point roll bar. Smiley.
