After your bladder is removed, your doctor will create a new passage where urine will leave your body. This is called a urostomy. The type of urostomy you will have is called an ileal conduit. Your doctor will use a small piece of your intestine called the ileum to create the ileal conduit. One end of the ileum will be attached to your ureters.
