Tuomas Lauri Johannes Holopainen (born 25 December 1976) [2] is a Finnish musician, songwriter, and record producer, best known as the primary songwriter, keyboardist, and founding member of symphonic metal band Nightwish. [3]

Tuomas is the youngest of the Holopainen siblings, his father Pentti recalls that Tuomas was born with a “lucky cap” on Christmas’ day 1976. He began studying music at the age of 7, when his mother Kirsti enrolled him for piano lessons.
