Apr 15, 2018 · 0 0 0. yea,sixteen hours of light might be a little long.i do a 10hr period of light.some do more.i keep it at that to save a little electricity.im sure you can find lots of threads on photoperiods on r2r.you may want to run the blues and whites together for much of the time they are on.i do blues 10 hrs and overlap the whites for 8 hrs.

Jan 4, 2016 · 20,000 lux is "low light"; 100,000 lux is direct sunlight at sea level. Start off with your lights at "medium" - around 40,000 lux - and only go up or down if you need to. (Anything between 20K and 80K is usually fine for most corals.) Jan 3, 2016. #3.

Nov 20, 2012 · Two or three pumps with more kick (= water velocity) would be better, IMO. Tunze 6045's are not controllable, but are some of my favorite reef pumps. The 6055 would be the controllable equivalent – also a great candidate for your tank. The 6095 and 6040 would be the other controllable options you might consider.

Jul 3, 2008 · IMO 3x400w MH's on a 8' tank is not too much light at all.It also depends on which corals you are putting high up and if you are acclimating them to the high light value,and also where the coral came from too.If it came from a tank that had it under high lighting then it isnt the lighting that is turning them brown.What are your parameters most interested in your p04

Feb 29, 2020 · Its the 100w cf grow light. Is that actually 100W draw, read the fine print carefully. The kessil H380 draws about 90W, and if you’re going to have that over a 2 gallon fuge, obviously that’s kinda crazy. I’m skeptical it’s 100W. If it really is, that’s too much light. Cuse89.

IME, euphyllia may lose a little vibrance under too little lighting (not look as bright/colorful), however if you have reef capable lighting too much light is more likely. too much light they start to bleach out (you can easily see through their tentacles) and sometimes they'll stay a bit more retracted, but that's not always true.

According to Dana Riddle's article (that states PAR is probably not the best measurement) - at noon - at the ocean surface ON A CLOUDY DAY - the PAR is 950. at 10 feet its 550. It levels off at 250 PAR at 30 feet or so.

May 23, 2021 · Under water, anything from 1-50 par, which is impossible. So, i kinda estimated settings, based on some internet claims that 4 bulb fixture is plenty enough for soft/lps tank, so i set leds at 40% intensity, this should give close to that 50-150 par range.
