The takeaway from Book Woman for me was the history of the Blue people of Kentucky. For me, the pack library was just the backdrop. In Giver of Stars, the issues were totally different with the same backdrop. Reading Giver I never felt I was reading a “stolen” story. I read about 40 books a year and feel that both are worth reading.
