Tascam 2488 MKII - A Real Fix for Unit Locking Up
Feb 5, 2014. #1. A Real Solution to the 2488 MKII freezing problem. Not Just Sticky Buttons - the cheezy wiring harness is also a culprit. I created this post because I had trouble with this unit - trouble that is easily corrected. I can only imagine folks panicking and dumping this thing over the design flaws, and other issues found with it.

Well-known member. Jan 25, 2007. #2. I was having the same dilemma. I decided that the AW1600 was a better way to go (heard about a lot of bugs on the 2488, plus the AW1600 seems more sturdy). Now I'm thinking about going with an HD24 for a few bucks more instead.

Tascam 2488 MKII and MIDI using Alesis SR-18
Dec 16, 2008 · Connect a MIDI cable from MIDI Out on the 2488 to the MIDI In on the Alesis. It's been a while since I used a 2488, but I think you press Menu, select MIDI/Sync, and there should be an on-screen menu where you can select the sync type as "MTC Master". On the SR-18, go to the System Setup, scroll to page 5, and change the "Clock In" value to "On".
Is a Tascam 2488 really useful with a Computer DAW?
Apr 18, 2013 · Being saomeone who still has his 2488 and now records with REAPER, my 2488 is packed up and not being used. As much as I loved it when I used it, there;s really no use for it if you're recording into your PC. That's what I suspected, RAMI. I think I was hoping for an excuse to unpack the 2488 and gaze at all the sliders, haha.

Jun 7, 2012 · If you use only analog and will stay with analog, live performance, a lot of drums, may be DP-24 is the best choice mainly because all 8 are the same inputs (Neo 4 with Fanton) and it is a new machine and will be stable soon or later. In a studio, like me (small studio) NEO is a best choice mainly because of the digital I/O.

Jul 27, 2004 · Actually, I wanted to ask you all about exporting several tracks at a time from the tascam 2488 to a PC with SONAR. Long story short (but equally agonizing) 4 freinds and myself have teamed up to form a songwriting demo recording workshop sort of thing. One of the fellas has actually made a living for some 20 years now in royalties from songs.

Jun 27, 2014 · Mixdown: Set the OUT point. Press MIXDOWN/MASTERING button. Press RECORD and PLAY. The master track will be recorded and the transport will stop at the END point. To check the recording press MIXDOWN/MASTERING again. Once you are done, save the song. To make a CD, do what you have been doing but choose YES to finalize.

Sep 19, 2017 · What you have to do is make a new folder on the import/export partition, then you have to go and export the track or mix down from the project to that folder, then set the drive to usb mode which parks the multi track partition, mounts the Fat 32 on the usb, and then you will be able to access it.
