WEBMay 27, 2021 · The Sylphyo has plenty of synth sounds onboard, and we are working on an editor to allow people to create their own sounds. We also continuously release new sounds. These sounds are based on modular synth technologies and a lot of them use parts of the open source Mutable Instruments modules, so they are very much "synthy".

WEBJul 10, 2020 · While I think the Sylphyo Link is really cool, it's sold separately and is pretty much 100% necessary if you want to perform live since the Sylphyo does not have a 1/4" jack (and you're unlikely to find any stages that can easily take 1/8" stereo signals, plus those cables are much more fragile than 1/4" TRS).

WEBAug 26, 2022 · It feels awkward at first but a few sessions working though some exercises works wonders. Yep, this is it. If you have any experience with 4-valve brass instrument (like a piccolo trumpet), the fingerings are the lowest octave on the horn. The rollers give the octave you want.

WEBDec 15, 2016 · The EWI is certainly a nice controller, but our Sylphyo behaves much more like an acoustic instrument, mostly with respect to air flow (we come closer to the pleasant feeling of blowing into a recorder/flute, see this picture for the internals). Some advanced techniques become quite easy and natural to do due to this.

My main instrument has been Native American flutes (my wife and I facilitate workshops in that sphere), so I gravitated toward an electronic instrument that allows me to breathe through the instrument and emulates the fingering aspects of an open-hole flute (i.e. no keys).

WEBSep 8, 2023 · Today my new Sylphyo arrived and I’m very impressed by the easyness of playing and the sound quality. Only 34 sounds, but almost all very usable. Breath control is very easy adjustable with a few clicks, no editor needed (in fact there is none), everything is so simple after a quick look in the manual.
