Sustaera, a direct air capture (DAC) carbon dioxide removal company spun-out of Susteon Inc., announced the closing of its $10M Series A financing round led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Grantham Trust’s Neglected Climate Opportunities LLC.

By taking lessons from our storied manufacturing past and innovating for a cleaner future, Sustaera has developed a novel Direct Air Capture technology that will allow us to remove, replace, and reuse carbon all while using renewable energy. Mar 28, 2022 · Today, we are excited to announce that Shopify has agreed to purchase 5,000 tonnes of carbon removal from Sustaera starting in 2024. With this purchase, Shopify will become Sustaera’s largest customer to date, and we will be able to expedite deployment of our direct air capture technology.
