Playa El Tunco is a little surf village west of Puerto La Libertad with beautiful black sand beaches. Only a few years ago this place was unknown and quiet, but is now the most visited town of El Salvador – by backpackers and surfers all year long.

Punta Mango Surf . Punta Mango serves up some nice hollow barrels with practically no line-up at all. This spot offers one of the best surfs in Central America, and the world. Often described as the “Secret Spot”, countless professional surfers visit here each year.

Las Flores boasts an exposed beach and point break that has reasonably consistent surf. The best wind direction is from the north with some shelter here from west winds. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the south southwest.

El Sunzal Surf . El Sunzal serves up a classic, long right point break that is about as consistent as any wave you’ll find in the world. This wave magnet breaks in deep water and takes on all swells.

La Libertad Surf. La Libertad, is located just 25 miles or so south of the capital. Although founded in 1927, back in the 50’s it was an international tourist destination visited mostly by nomad surfers that adventure themselves looking for perfect waves very long in length.

One of the most incredible things about surfing in El Salvador is being able to surf spots like this Conchalio with nobody in the lineup on those days when the point breaks aren’t lined up. Conchalio is very hollow and fast when working, and has a great sandy beach in front.

Mizata Point Surf. Mizata in Costa del Balsamo, El Salvador is an exposed point break that has very consistent surf and ideal winds from the north. Groundswells are more common than wind swells and the ideal swell angle is from the south. The best surfing in Mizata Point can be found around low tide.

Playa El Palmarcito Surf Playa El Palmarcito is a short sandy beach between rocks and cliffs with an unique quiet and relaxing environment. The surf is less consistence than other surf spots in el salvador making it a great place for beginners and intermediate surfers.
