The mission of the Southern Pacific Narrow Gauge Historical Society is to preserve, share and provide education of the history of the various narrow gauge railroads associated with the former Southern Pacific Railroad.

The Carson & Colorado Railway and the Laws Railroad Museum are excited to announce the return of Southern Pacific Narrow Gauge Locomotive #18 to the only remaining SP narrow gauge track for the “Slim Princess Reunion” September 22-24, 2017 at the Laws Railroad Museum in Bishop Ca.

In our publication we discuss the history of the narrow gauge lines focusing on many topics such as the people, dates, places and equipment. Also discussed are current restoration projects of SPng equipment and modeling the railroads in all scales.

The annual meeting is part of a several day conference devoted to presentations and field trips related to the narrow gauge railroads of the SP. Presentations in the past have covered modeling the railroad, history of the railroad, reports of field trips and observations.

Former editor Bob Bader tells the story of Southern Pacific’s narrow gauge operation in Southern California. This was a 3’ gauge line between San Bernardino and Redlands.
