Feb 22, 2022 · It's not a great postion for for filling your vehicle with sound and I'd worry about damaging them. If I were in your position I'd definitely go for an overhead sound bar. In the front I've used both the adapter plates and a set of enclosed pods that fit in the factory location. Both accept 5.25" speakers.

Feb 22, 2022 · A sound bar is for jeeps with no doors and wide tires. My jeep has a bikini top so between the wind and tire noise I hear the sound bar just fine. Mine has 2 speakers behind the back seat, but I am looking for a system that lays on top of the wheel wells.

Nov 27, 2014 · The pods are a lot different than the bar. For instance, the larger Polk db speakers fit in the older soundbar but require a lot of mods to work in the sound pods. The end result in the sound pods is that the speaker has to be mounted to the face of the pod and not into the hole, or you have to hang it from really long screws.

Jan 12, 2014 · I have combed through the forum to find info on 6.5" speakers that can be installed into the 03-06 sound pods, but didn't see anything as far as models that were a direct bolt in (most mention having to drill new holes). Just thought I would mention I had success with the Kenwood KFC-1664S model.

May 3, 2012 · I actually transplanted my sound bar from the rear to the front. I'll snap a pic when I go out for a smoke. All I did was measure the width of the bars in front, cut the sound bar where the light was and left the top section on so it is still one piece. I still need to weld the holes closed but didnt have enough time/light yesterday.

Jan 17, 2018 · I think the fact my sound bar runs across the top from bar to bar and is basically a hollow plastic tube with wires in it, that is why my sound was so different, I am unsure of the material your pods are made of. but like some have said, poly is an easy way to ensure deep rich sound by controlling the air around the speaker
