Another useful tool that the name of slips my old mined right now has a handle a little longer than an ax but the blade is curved and the cutting edge is on the bottom. Simply walk along and cut along the edge.

If I got a section that takes the length of a roll, but half the width, then I keep it rolled up like a sheet of dough and use a tree pruning saw and cut it to width. Saves the hassle of trying to cut the length of the roll on the ground with a knife.

If I'm at an edge, and I need to cut a whole piece width wise, then I measure what I need, keep the sod rolled, and cut the piece I need with a pruning saw with a 10 inch blade. Kinda like rolling a sheet of dough and cutting it. This way keeps my long cuts square.

WEBFeb 14, 2002 · Stihl TS 400 = Landscapers utility knife, great for cutting sod, filter fabric, pondliner, even marking out walkways and beds ect.... as a trencher though not so much. I have often considered putting a crosscut blade on a gas saw, but so far I haven't tried it. UR UR more power.

Maybe a lot of you already do this, I don't know. All I've ever seen landscapers around here do is cut it with knives or saws.

If you have load the sod onto wheel barrows and move it around that way. better double it...

As for an arc, I mark it out with marking paint then use a sod cutter or edger depending on how much grass I am removing. CSFM (Certified Sports Field Manager)
