Feb 5, 2021 · The Drill Chuck that came with the Shopsmith Model 10ER was the Jacobs 3326 and attached directly to the spindle with a set screw. If you have that chuck use it with the Tailstock Chuck Adapter.

Aug 25, 2009 · I'm quickly coming to the realization that there are no keyless drill chuck replacements for the SS. As a matter of fact, I don't think there are any replacement chucks available other than from SS. I'm looking for one that's more precise than what I have currently (which has way too much runout to be usable for any type of precision drilling). Any luck finding aftermarket chucks? Thanks!

Jan 9, 2022 · Since you now know what Drill Chuck you have below is a picture that shows the different Drill Chucks supplied with the Shopsmith through the years. Any Drill Chuck with a 5/8" bore will work and that includes non-Shopsmith chucks most of which use an adaptor.

Jul 6, 2020 · To use on your Shopsmith Model 10ER it would require an adapter. Most commonly the Drill Chuck is attached to the Shopsmith's 5/8" reverse tapered spindle but some uses have it on the Tailstock using a #2 Morse taper adapter.

Nov 13, 2019 · I always get drill chuck arbors mixed up because there are dozens of choices for size and taper in the various standards. Probably best to stick with the Shopsmith adapter for mating to the Shopsmith drill chuck.

Dec 12, 2008 · The 4 in 1 fit the Jacobs chuck and the chuck that came w/520. OK, I may still hijack the B & D key and put the 4 in 1 with the portable drill (s) and maybe find uses for the other two of four keys!

Jul 14, 2021 · The tailstock has a Morse 2 taper so for live centers, drill chucks and the like you have a variety of choices from different manufacturers. Shopsmith does have a tailstock arbor with a 5/8" spindle that you can mount a drill chuck on.

Nov 8, 2019 · The Jacobs Multi-Craft Chuck replaced the 3326 in the late 1950's. For a time was labeled MC3326 but later was MC8K26. I have seen 4 versions of the Multi-Craft Chuck, but I am not sure if all 4 versions came with Shopsmith's. 3 of them did. The Cushman Drill Chuck was the next one supplied with the Shopsmith Marks.
