Mar 20, 2018 · Sharkskin is a type of twill weave and has a pronounced diagonal character made from two yarns of different color. The first one is not sharkskin. The second is a twill, but I'm not sure it is sharkskin. Sharkskin is also very smooth and frequently has a shimmer. The second doesn't appear to have either characteristic.

Jun 12, 2007 · Sharkskin is probably my favorite suit fabric. It is generally a black and white or black and grey plain weave in a sort of stair step pattern. IMO, the best ones are the more rustic ones like Harrison does, but Smith's is probably the classic. Here is a picture.
