Oct 24, 2021 · Shadowheart is honestly more of a support character. She has generally low accuracy and damage (though Inflict Wounds and Guiding Bolt can do some serious damage if you're lucky). Use her to cast spells like Bless, Armor of Faith, Healing Word and Create Water (criminally underrated spell if you can deal Cold or Lightning damage).

I changed Shadowheart’s Cleric Domain to War, which RP-wise feels fitting for her new role as a holy warrior of Shar sent to purge corruption from Her church. Gameplay-wise, the War Priest Extra Attack charges and Channel Divinity: Guided Strike are quite handy for improving Shadowheart’s martial prowess.

Yeah, shadowheart is the textbook example of a respec. My first run I did all base classes and stats with no multiclass in an effort to simplify things for myself. Besides, it might be a slightly happier outcome, but I would hesitate to label it a better outcome. One version of Shadowheart makes the right choice when presented with a chance to have her parents back. Another makes the right choice when presented with a stranger. One of these makes her a lot more likeable than the other.
