I then hooked a different soundbar to the Samsung tv and it also would not be recognized. I contacted Samsung support and have been on a text thread with them for the past 3 hours and they have no answer.

Mar 18, 2023 · Please, Samsung, for the sake of my sanity can you PLEASE figure out why it is just so difficult to get a modern Samsung TV to just use Toslink or HDMI ARC ALL THE TIME for ALL audio for ALL APPS, like Panasonic, Sony and JVC televisions (and even a few older Samsungs) all seem able to do without a fraction of the same difficulty?!

Since when Samsung "decides" to mess up things they done it pretty badly, I even went to: "SmartThings -> Menu -> SmartThings Settings" and turned off "Auto update devices and services". Now let's see how long will I have to keep the updates to the soundbar and to my SmartThings hub and devices, turned off.
