WEBFeb 26, 2016 — SVG is intended for the web, but nothing stops you from using it for print. Although I doubt it support all PDF/EPS features. SVG is intended as a final file too, but is can be used as working file. Inkscape can edit SVG files, although it doesn't has the features Adobe Illustrator has, but for a free Open Source app it's awesome.

WEBWeb browsers can't render AI or EPS files well. At best they render full PDFs with a plug in, not natively. Print production can't always understand the XML behind SVG, so using SVG can cause problems in RIPS or output. In terms of backbone all the vector formats are viable to use/edit during construction. It is more a matter of final output.
