The professors can be a mixed bag, but I have noticed that SFU is hiring more and more sessional/ one-off lecturers. Surprise surprise - They always suck. Employment opportunities is what you make of it. I recommend you register for the coop program ASAP.

SFU is globally recognized for its Comp Sci program. Its only in BC that people constantly treat it like a second rank institution. You go talk to academics elsewhere in the world and they will tell you that SFU and UBC have different specializations and there are many fields where SFU has the better program.
