Jun 10, 2007 · This pleco kicks butt!I was lucky and took a few pictures next to a normal colored royal.He sure looks platinum to me.A great pleco either way.He came from Snookin21 and we all know his quality.Very healthy happy fish.

Mar 7, 2022 · In my opinion, this pleco looks to be more like the L190 (bright eyed royal), especially if it was a petco find. Still, quite the come-up for a “common pleco”. Typically, these and the L191 (dull eyed royal) are the more common royals, with the L27 xingu being more of a specialty import.

I should also mention that.. its current tankmates.. are L-14 10" which im also closely monitoring.. Along with 2 chocolate pleco and 2 albino pleco.. those dont see to have any issue.. they always eat..

Feb 22, 2012 · He was in a tank with a few other Royal Plecos of the same size, so I'm thinking maybe one of them was responsible. I have been told Plecos suck on other fishes skin when there isn't enough food available, and that Royal Plecos can be territorial towards other members of their own species, so maybe he was getting picked on.

Jan 11, 2009 · I have a 6 inch royal pleco and for some reason he seems really stressed out and his eyes are sinking in. I have had him in the same tank for a year and a half. Although I did have one before do the same thing and it died about a month later. I didn't know if there was anything that anyone would know about this. Thanks in advance for any help.

Aug 23, 2012 · I just added a new pleco (royal) to my 125 planted 1 week ago. He is in there with another royal (difference in size of a inch or so). The other inhabitants are roseline sharks diamond tetras brilliant rasboras kulli loaches neons and corycats. I did a waterchange 5 hours ago (if that would matter). I just saw both plecos and one is yellow.

Nov 11, 2013 · As above, L190 is a names species (Panaque nigrolineatus) and L191 is an as-yet undescribed species, both commonly called "royal pleco", alond with several others from the same group. Both look very nice.
