    In 1976, Fermo and Andre Jaeckle took over management of Roth & Co. They targeted deli departments with the first full line of cut and wrapped cheeses and grew the business to become the largest specialty cheese importer/distributor in the U.S. In 1983, Roth & Co. was sold to General Foods. In 1989, Roth & Co AG in Switzerland changed its name to Roth Käse AG.
