Jan 24, 2022 · I quite love the Martelli mat. I push straight down and have never had it slip (apologies to sydneybean). You can even buy just the cutting surface at WalMart. It has the Get-a-Grip on the reverse side; this assures it won't slip as you're cutting, but it will make turning the mat far less convenient. But it's an affordable way to get started!

Jan 31, 2015 · Re: Cutting mat -- which is the best? Does anyone have a Gingher mat? It looks good but I see mixed reviews. Then again I see mixed reviews on most mats. It's pretty blue on one side, pale green on the other, and has squares similar to the Martelli. My old mat has had it, and I've been hating it more and more since I had to return my new one.

Jan 19, 2013 · Re: warped cutting mat I have a mat that warped, I put it under my matress for several months and that flattened it back out. I use it for cutting on, but not measuring. When I was looking online, people were saying that with the warping of the mat might mess up the measuring. Haven't been brave enough to measure and possibly mess up my cutting.
