The Ringworld series is a series of science fiction novels written by American author Larry Niven. It is part of his Known Space series of stories. Its backdrop is the Ringworld, a giant artifact 600 million miles in circumference circling a star.

The Ringworld series consists of four books: Ringworld, The Ringworld Engineers, The Ringworld Throne, and Ringworld’s children. The first book was published in 1970, and the last did not appear until 2004. Larry Niven is a highly popular science fiction writer, born in 1938 in Los Angeles California.

Louis Wu, accompanied by a young woman with genes for luck, and a captured kzin – a warlike species resembling 8-foot-tall cats -- are taken on a space ship run by a brilliant 2-headed alien called Nessus. Ringworld is an upcoming television series from Amazon Studios. It is an adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Larry Niven. The series is being adapted by Akiva Goldsman with Alan Taylor on board to direct the pilot. [1][2]

May 26, 2021 · Ringworld isn’t the only classic sci-fi adaptation heading to screens soon, with Isaac Asimov’s Foundation TV show and the movie version of Frank Herbert’s Dune both well underway. The lack of news, plus the inevitable delays caused by Covid, does suggest though that it could be at least 2022 before Ringworld finally arrives.
