Jun 22, 2020 · Agreed, I think a FS 29er from Canfield would be at least 140 f/r. The Riot is way more bike than I need for what I ride, but it's still so good. These Revel offerings, the Ranger included, are all attractive options if I were in the market. Not sure I'd ever drop more than a few grand for a bike though. Maybe get one used in a few years.

Feb 15, 2016 · Ranger looks like it might be the right bike for techie/XC east coast riding. It's slightly progressive, but not crazy, and with a 130mm fork on there, might be just right. By stroke of fortune, I picked up a used TB v4 with plans to build it up, but the low BB and really slack HTA just looks so weird on paper.

Nov 11, 2024 · Revel Ranger is an amazing bike. I almost just bought it again because it is such a good deal but I cannot justify owning a third XC bike. I had one, loved everything about it but it lost a close battle with my M4SL and so I sold it. It wasn't a big difference and it was the best tech climbing XC bike I've ever used.

Nov 10, 2019 · Revel is relatively new so their first few models will have some issues. Even more established companies (like Spot) had that infamous Living Link area squeak on many bikes, so it happens. Of all the bike companies, I am curious to see what they do when they redesign the Rascal and Ranger.

Revel Ranger vs. SC Tallboy - Mountain Bike Reviews Forum
Mar 15, 2021 · I've got a line on a used Tallboy CC frame (2020, v4) for a good price, though I've been eyeing the Revel Ranger for a while, now. My current ride is a custom build Salsa Timberjack w/ a 130mm fork, great for after work rides but I'm looking for some extra cush for those long weekend rides and rides in more gnarly, rocky terrain and rougher ...
Epic Evo / Juliana Wilder / Revel Ranger? - Mountain Bike Reviews …
Feb 25, 2023 · Had a blast and loved the low weight of the X01 build (~25lbs). But, the bike is pretty pricey and their new build kits are a bit heavier so I started looking at alternatives. A few that came up on my radar are the Specialized Epic Evo Comp ($4750), Juliana Wilder/Santa Cruz Blur Trail ($5599 - S builds), and Revel Ranger (X01 on sale now for ...

Feb 2, 2004 · I built the Ranger up with the SID 120 fork and SID shock in late 2020. Put the 140 fork on Mayish of 2021 and rode it quite a lot, including the Breck Epic (where it climbed well and ate up downhills).

Dec 26, 2010 · These Revel wheels (RW27s) do a have a pretty damp/muted feel. I like the way they look, FWIW. The material catches the light in different ways, which is visually pretty interesting. Regarding durability, etc., I haven't taken any big hits on 'em, but know that Revel wouldn't back them with an unconditional lifetime warranty if they were brittle.
