(.429") Lead cast bullets such as the ones we would be using for reloading for the reichsrevolver, can be a thou bigger, at .430". 0.425" plus or minus 0.002" is what the original data calls for for the reichsrevolver.

Apr 1, 2014 · Hello, I finally dug out my Reichsrevolver serial number 1. It is a Dreyse, not the VCS - S&S consortium. I would be interested in yours which is probably the consortium. Here are some photo's of mine. It is an Officers model Dreyse with added extractor. I also have some other low serial number 1883's, a number 7, 17 (Mauser), 44.

I have a similar one my collection with the serial number 6. and with the same German proof mark. This proof mark was introduced in 1891. Officers had to pay for their revolvers.

Nov 25, 2012 · The Reichsrevolver was produced by a number of manufacturers. They were made primarily by a consortium in Suhl consisting of the firms of Sauer & Sohn, C.G. Hanel and V.C. Schilling. They were also produced independently by Dreyse, Mauser and the government arsenal at Erfurt.

Jan 12, 2014 · The Reichsrevolver was the standard German handgun prior to the adoption of the Luger in 1908. So I also suspect that whoever registered this piece thought that any German handgun was a "Luger". The caliber of the Reichsrevolver is 10.6mm which is roughly .44 caliber and appears close to .45 so that could also be a mistake in the registration.
