Jul 4, 2022 · I fish mostly plugs. Usually trout patterns like brook, brown, and rainbow as well as baitfish colors. Chartreuse and bright red or orange also work well for me. It mostly depends on the water conditions. The trout patterns work exceptionally well.

Dec 18, 2005 · I think the 15 pound lakers, 15 pound northerns, nine pound walleye I have caught out of that lake have eaten every single rainbow and brown fry ever deposited. Anyhow, I start shallow, 10 feet at first ice, the trout come in to gorge on wigglers and crayfish, then I move out each day, deeper and deeper until I am at 175 feet by march.

Last year DNA samples were taken from 13 rainbow trout @ Port Sanilac. 11 of the samples proved to have been from the Eagle Lake strain which have been planted @ these ports.

The amount of stain the water has is also something to consider - a natural-colored bait might be best for gin clear water, while murky conditions could call for something brighter/unnatural.

Mar 2, 2005 · I own a lot on Rainbow, but don't fish it much. I have caught some huge crappie up to 16 inches. Lots of 8" gills and average perch. A good bass lake in summer and some giant catfish. There are walleys and pike in the lake and most other warm water fish. Fishing is good if you locate the fish.

Setters Run Storm gone to the Rainbow Bridge
May 17, 2013 · Setters Run Storm has gone to the Rainbow Bridge today. Storm (as far as we know) is the last of Setters Run Rock's pups. Rock's great grandkids (Rim and Blue) will carry on for her. She had a good life for more than four years after her cancer of the spine surgery at age 9. Storm would have been 14 years old in July.
