Feb 25, 2025 · Why is Quicken Loans (aka Rocket Mortgage) No longer showing up as an option when trying to add an account for Quicken Deluxe for Windows? Like many people on this forum I had been downloading my mortgage transactions from Quicken Loans for many, many years.

At this time, Rocket Mortgage is available in Quicken under "Quicken Loans". I am aware that Quicken Loans is moving to be Rocket Mortgage, however, their name has not been updated to reflect this coming change, as of yet. If you haven't already, please attempt to connect your account once more, selecting Quicken Loans from the list.

Intuit Inc. purchased Rock Financial in 1999, and the company was renamed Quicken Loans. Quicken introduced Rocket Mortgage as the first completely online mortgage service in 2015. In 2021, Quicken Loans officially changed its home lending division to Rocket Mortgage.

I have 11 Institutions and 26 Accounts in my DB. I run a Quicken Update every morning, 7 days/week. My Quicken Loan data was last downloaded on March 20, 2024 @ 7:44 am.

Then in 2002, the same management team that sold Rock Mortgage to Intuit bought it back and continues to call that mortgage company Quicken Loans. Then a few years ago, Quicken Loans changed it's legal name to Rocket Mortgage. So Quicken loans /. Rocket mortgage had the right to use the Quicken name all those years via a liscense.

So just for clarification: Quicken, the company which provides personal finance software, has NOTHING to do with Quicken Loans. They only share a name from an old marketing deal by Intuit, which owns neither company now. And Quicken Loans changed its name to Rocket Mortgage 3 years ago.

But you can set them up as manual off-line loans which I and many other Super Users feel is actually a better method for tracking mortgages because manual loans have registers and the loan payment transactions in the checking account can be tied to the loans.
