Jan 15, 2013 · The Queen’s Hotel was one of the first buildings in Fort Macleod to be built of sandstone. It was built in 1903 to replace an earlier, smaller, wood-frame hotel of the same name. The hotel is a three-storey, flat-roofed building with a U-shaped footprint.

Aug 18, 2015 · The Queen’s Hotel is a fine example of the kind of substantial hotels built in Alberta’s urban centres during their boom periods. Its heritage value lies in its contribution to the heritage character of the Fort Macleod Provincial Historic Area.

Feb 12, 2024 · Upon completion, The Queen's Hotel was hailed as the epitome of luxury in Macleod, earning its place as the town's most prestigious lodging. Over the years, it became the preferred destination for business elites, government officials, and discerning visitors to the area.

Dec 8, 2021 · A local group of investors have joined together with the common goal to restore the Queen’s Hotel to, once again, make it a prominent hub for dining and accommodation on Fort Macleod’s historic Main Street.
